Classless loadouts
Crimson Moon Builds & Classes Guide
Crimson Moon uses a classless build system. Your role comes from equipped weapons, armor, Weapon Arts, Boons and an Angel rather than a permanent class choice.12

What Replaces Classes
- Weapons define attack patterns and may carry a Weapon Art.12
- Armor and trinkets contribute stats and situational bonuses.1
- Boons modify a run, with Innate and Temporary effects behaving differently.1
- Angels add another loadout decision; Aegis is a commonly recommended beginner option in launch guides.2
Build Planning
Start with one reliable damage plan, one defensive tool and one source of sustain. The launch-era databases are still incomplete, so avoid treating any total count or tier list as final.12
| Build layer | What it controls | Beginner question |
|---|---|---|
| Weapon and shield | Attack pattern, damage type and Weapon Art | Can I use this safely under pressure? |
| Armor | Defenses, stamina and other item bonuses | Does it support my main damage plan? |
| Trinkets | Focused passive effects | Am I adding damage, sustain or utility? |
| Boons | Innate gear effects and temporary run effects | Does this effect trigger consistently? |
| Angel | A separate support and power choice | Does it cover a weakness in the loadout? |
Build Routes
- Balanced starter: Covenant Sword or Crescent Moon Halberd, Belwayne Knight armor, sustain and stamina Boons, and Aegis.2
- Bleed route: pair frequent attacks with Sanguine Slice and other effects that reward repeated hits.2
- Rage route: choose Boons that generate Rage, extend Enraged duration or add defenses while Enraged.1
